KidFolk & Co. is an Ontario business based in Norfolk County that creates a variety of sensory kits for kids and other products for sensory play like slime, magic dough, surprise jars (and more).

What inspired you to start your business?

The journey of motherhood, our children, each other and our shared love for all things creative, fun, and sensory play is what originally & continues to inspire all three of us! We’ve all known each other since high school but life took us separate directions, down different paths & then we all started families around the same time — Next thing we knew we found ourselves reunited to embark on this adventure together!

We began as two mama’s on maternity leave with a wild “could you imagine” dream. We always knew our duo was meant to be a trio and with the addition of our 3rd partner last year we finally feel complete! We believe the magic created by our three minds combined is something pretty special & can’t wait to continue this wild journey together for years to come!

How do you describe your business?

We are a dynamic trio of moms who have come together to bring our vision of the ultimate kids’ sensory play brand to life. Every product we create is developed and crafted by the three of us and we are committed to delivering the highest quality possible! Beyond building a business, we’ve formed the ultimate support system for one another as moms & woman in business.

The handmade sensory play product industry is very saturated & being unique so that we stand out isn’t always easy. Part of what makes KidFolk & Co. so special is that it’s run by 3 mama’s, which means we have three brains developing our products together instead of one! Each one of us brings our own unique viewpoints, talents and strengths to the table which makes all of our products one of a kind creations.

What’s your bestselling product & why do you think it’s so popular?

Our *NEW* 3D Printed Trays with Resin Poured accents are definitely our hottest item right now! We are absolutely blown away by the reaction & support for this new product line!

This collection started with the idea & hope of creating a more cost effective Colour Sorting Tray options for our customers compared to our all resin OG option! With the initial idea & concept in mind we all worked together to create what is now one of our most popular tray options!

But why is it so popular!? Simple, a colour sorting tray sensory activity offers several developmental benefits:

Our new 3D Printed & Resin Poured Trays is the first collaborative project that each one of us has to physically work on to bring the magic to life! Utilizing our strengths, we each have the opportunity to add a touch of our own uniqueness to this project, making it extra special to us all.

• Amanda: Coordinates themes by finding, creating and downloading our graphic files.

• Cassi: Takes the graphics, creates the 3D model and adds our logo into the back of each tray, & 3D prints them!

• Chandi: Finish’s these beauties off with some epic resin pouring magic & prepares them for each order!

Building your dream company with your best friends & making quality products that our customers and their littles truly enjoy it’s like living in a fairy tale.

Materials: We use the highest quality, food grade – food safe resin. All our 3D printed products are made using Eco-friendly & food safe PLA filament.

What’s your personal favourite product?

We’re absolutely in love with everything we create, but right now, we all agree that our Unicorn 3D Printed & Resin Poured Tray is our top obsession!

We’ve been perfecting a new resin pour technique that gives the unicorn’s mane a fun, vibrant rainbow bend, and of course, we incorporate a generous amount of glitter!

We love this product & product line so much because each tray has a small part that each of us has creatively contributed, making it uniquely ours. Individually we are all naturally curious & creative, but combined together – we are an unstoppable team of passion, drive & creativity.

What’s your favourite local Ontario business?

With all three of us being from the same small town of Norfolk County, we take great pride in shopping, collaborating and supporting other small businesses in our communities!

While we have many favourites, our local business shoutout goes to The Barntique in Walsh, ON.

The incredible owner, Jenn, has created a one-of-a-kind shopping experience in her rustic barn, loved by so many!
