Aurum Skincare was born of necessity. After years of struggling to acclimatize their chronically sensitive skin to the harsh conditions of Northern Canada’s subarctic climate, Elise and Joanne decided to research ways to solve their own skin woes. Discovering the circumpolar tradition of applying birch water to calm and hydrate skin, they began by sustainably harvesting this rich resource from wild birch trees. With the help of a pharmaceutical chemist, they developed an award-winning bio-fermentation process that infuses the birch water with beneficial prebiotics known by the medical community to support wound healing.
